Our Story
OUR STORY
Hope has had an address for 30 years…
Founded by 4 physicians in 1996, Highlands Oncology is one of the largest physician-owned cancer programs in the country. This independent, multidisciplinary cancer center has grown alongside the Northwest Arkansas community it serves, providing patients from across the region—and beyond—with a full spectrum of care. With comprehensive, well-equipped locations in Rogers, Fayetteville, Springdale, and Mountain Home, Highlands Oncology is committed to ensuring patients have access to the physicians and services they need close to home.
Highlands provides expertise in medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. Yet care extends far beyond cancer treatment alone. Patients benefit from diagnostic imaging, a comprehensive rehabilitation program, spiritual care, genetic counseling, behavioral health services, a state-of-the-art infusion suite, a full-service pharmacy, a nationally recognized lung cancer screening program, and many additional supportive services designed to meet the whole person’s needs.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality of innovative care, delivered with precision and compassion. Highlands Oncology has achieved its success by keeping patients at the center of every decision, every treatment plan, and every interaction.
Nearly 900 employees carry this mission forward each day, fully aware that they meet people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. For that reason, our team brings more than clinical expertise to their work—they bring empathy, dedication, and a genuine heart for service.

OUR IMPACT IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
Three Decades Strong
At Highlands Oncology, our commitment extends beyond the walls of our clinics. We are deeply invested in the health, economy, and future of Northwest Arkansas.
Transforming Healthcare Access
By offering advanced treatments and clinical trials locally, we eliminate the need for patients to travel long distances to receive the best care, keeping families together and reducing the financial burden of cancer care.
Fueling Economic Growth
With over 800 employees across six locations, Highlands is one of the region’s largest healthcare employers, supporting hundreds of families and contributing to a thriving local economy.
Building a Healthier Future
Through research partnerships with organizations like the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and leading pharmaceutical companies, we are positioning Northwest Arkansas as a hub for cutting-edge cancer research and innovation.
Supporting Our Communities
From educational programs to patient support initiatives, Highlands invests in community outreach efforts that extend hope, healing, and knowledge across the region.
As Northwest Arkansas has experienced remarkable growth, Highlands has grown alongside it.
Over the past seven years, Highlands has doubled in size.
- Expanding its physician team from 16 to more than 30 providers.
- Increasing its workforce from 360 to nearly 800 employees.
- Growing its clinical trials portfolio from 70 to almost 150 active studies.
This growth is mirrored in our physical footprint, with over 150,000 square feet added across our cancer centers. Continuing this momentum, Highlands has acquired 51 acres along I-49 in Rogers for the development of its seventh location, further enhancing access to care across the region.
