Our speech therapists work as part of the Highlands team to improve the side effects of your cancer and treatment. Oncology rehabilitation is beneficial from diagnosis, throughout your treatment, and into survivorship.

Speech therapy can help with:

• Lymphedema or swelling
• Cognition – memory, cognitive fatigue, etc.
• Supporting nutrition and hydration

Specialized support for patients with a tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis (TEP)

We understand how important communication is to daily life. Our TEP Clinic provides specialized care for people who have had a total laryngectomy and use a tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis (TEP) to speak.

VOICE PROSTHESIS CARE
We provide routine voice prosthesis replacement, fitting, and evaluation to ensure your device is working properly and comfortably.

TROUBLESHOOTING
We help address leaking, changes in voice quality, and other concerns related to your TEP.

EDUCATION & SUPPORT
We offer guidance on cleaning, daily care, and maintaining your prosthesis to support your long-term success.
