Highlands Oncology, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment group, has been recognized by the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) with the Corporate Sponsorship of the Arts Award for their contributions to SoNA, and music education in the region, for more than 20 years.
Highlands Oncology has provided support to SoNA since 1996. The group offers financial support to the symphony, sponsors one concert a year and encourages symphonic music education throughout the region. Dr Malcolm Hayward, of Highlands Oncology, has served multiple terms on the SoNA Board of Directors and the group’s sponsorships have helped reach about 15,000 people yearly through concerts, open rehearsals and educational programs.
Highlands Oncology offers cutting-edge technology and conducts clinical trials at the cusp of innovation. The cancer research and treatment group provides advanced technologies such as stereotactic body radiation therapy and Y90 radio immunization for liver cancer. Highlands Oncology spearheads the use of IBM Watson to electronically screen patients for qualifying clinical trials.
Highlands Oncology is a part of the Center for Chest Care and the Northwest Arkansas Lung Cancer Screening Program which provides free lung cancer screenings to high-risk individuals in the Northwest Arkansas community.
