Clinical Trials

Our Latest Clinical Trials and Research Initiatives

Clinical trials are how new treatments and improved outcomes are developed in health care. Highlands Oncology has been participating in clinical trials for over 26 years. Our Research Department operates numerous clinical trials in both oncology and hematology.

Radio-pharmaceuticals

Cutting-edge Nuclear Medicine

At Highlands, we offer Theranostics, a personalized and highly targeted approach to cancer care. This treatment combines diagnostic imaging and therapeutic medicine into one process.

Using a specialized radiotracer and a PET/Nuclear Medicine scan, we can precisely locate tumor receptors. Then, a custom radioactive drug is administered to selectively target and destroy only the cancer cells, leaving healthy cells untouched.

IMMUNOTHERAPY

Immunotherapy is a cancer treatment designed to stimulate or suppress the body’s immune system to fight cancer. It uses materials made by the body or in a laboratory to improve, target, or restore immune system function.

Targeted Therapy

Targeted therapy attacks specific cancer cells and keeps them from growing, reproducing, and/or kills the cancer cells. Unlike IV therapy, targeted therapies have little impact on normal cells. Starve cancer of the hormones needed to grow. Targeted therapies prevent the body from making specific hormones or prevent the hormones from acting on cancer cells.

Bispecifics

Learn how bispecific therapy works to bring the immune system and cancer cell together. These advanced antibodies act as a bridge, helping your T-cells identify and destroy cancer cells more effectively than traditional treatments.
