Additional Services

Compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do.

Our team understands how challenging this time can be, and that you may need additional support during your journey to health. At Highlands Oncology, we provide the guidance and comfort, all in partnership with your healthcare team.

People with cancer and those who care about them face many problems and challenges.

Having helpful information and support services can make it easier to cope with these problems.

Also, it helps many patients to discuss their concerns with others who have cancer. People with cancer often get together in support groups, where they can share what they have learned about coping with their disease and the effects of their treatment.

Nutrition

DSC00059

Highlands has registered dietitians on staff to support our patients.

Our team of registered dietitians, along with other clinical personnel, is dedicated to addressing the needs of our patients to provide them with the best possible chance in their fight against cancer.

Proper nutrition is essential during cancer treatment for maintaining strength, managing side effects, and aiding recovery. A balanced diet that is rich in plant-based foods, lean proteins, and healthy fats can help patients better tolerate treatment and may improve outcomes. Some patients may have difficulty eating due to the type or location of their disease and may require specialized methods to ensure they receive vital nutrients.

    DIAGNOSTIC

    Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging plays a critical role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Advanced imaging technologies—such as CT, MRI, PET, and ultrasound—allow physicians to identify tumors early, determine their exact location and stage, and monitor how well treatment is working.

Highlands offers a full complement of advanced imaging technology at each of our cancer centers, including PET, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray. This comprehensive on-site imaging capability allows for timely, accurate diagnosis and seamless coordination of care throughout each patient’s treatment journey.

    Specialty PETS

    center for chest care

At Highlands Oncology, we utilize Specialty PET Scans to provide highly specific and advanced diagnostic information. These cutting-edge scans employ unique radioactive tracers designed to target specific cells or proteins, such as PSMA for prostate cancer, Dotatate/Detectnet for neuroendocrine tumors, and Amyvid for Alzheimer’s.

This functional imaging provides crucial details on the location, extent, and function of disease, enabling our doctors to accurately stage cancer, monitor recurrence, and personalize treatment decisions with the highest level of precision.

Achieving CLIA certification assures patients that the facility adheres to rigorous quality controls and provides reliable, timely results.
