Highlands Oncology Aims to Amplify Cancer Care in Northwest Arkansas With Collaborative Efforts
Highlands Oncology, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment group, with locations in Fayetteville and Rogers, contributes to several multidisciplinary groups (collaborative efforts among oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, specialty doctors, and other medical professionals) with the purpose of enhancing overall cancer research and treatment in the region. Highlands Oncology is an integral part of Arkansas Breast Cancer Specialists, The Neuro Conference and The Center for Chest Care.
Neuro Conference, established by Highlands Oncology, is a team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and physicians and nurses for the NWA Neuroscience Institute. The team collaborates to review cases and to provide targeted, consorted care in the field neuro-oncology.
Arkansas Breast Cancer Specialists is an interdisciplinary group of physicians specializing in breast imaging, pathology, surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology. The group meets weekly to review breast cancer cases and to coordinate treatment.
The Center for Chest Care is comprised of Highlands Oncology, MANA Medical Associates-Pulmonary, and Cardiovascular Surgical Associates of NWA. The Center for Chest Care organizes the implementation of The Northwest Arkansas Lung Cancer Screening Program, which is an approved screening center for excellence by The Lung Cancer Alliance. It was the first screening program in Arkansas and one of the only free screening programs nationwide.
